Vicki Roycroft Stables: George Morris Clinics
George Morris Clinics
Showjumping January 2011
US super coach George Morris is visiting Australia once again to teach our very best jumping and eventing riders in January. Clinic dates are 14th to 16th January indoors at SIEC, and 18th to 20th January outdoors on grass at Mount White. Also a 2-day Clinic in Victoria on 22nd and 23rd January at Adam Wootten's. Spaces are now very limited in the Rider Clinics, but spectators are welcome at $30 per day. Session times are 8am til 10am for the 1.40 group, 10.15 til 12.15 for the 1.25 group. Then either 2 til 4, or 3 til 5 (depending on the heat) for the 1.15 group.
Spectators will receive a wealth of knowledge from this man whose career has spanned 50 years of success in both riding (Olympic Silver Medal, Grand Prixs of Aachen and Spruce Meadows, countless Nations' Cups) and coaching, most recently the last two Gold Medal winning US Olympic Teams. He is also the author of several highly regarded books, and is a clear, articulate communicator that loves having an audience, due to a past life in the theatre!
Come to SIEC and/or Mount White to hear and watch the very best in show jumping. If at Mount White, bring sunscreen and a folding chair. Further enquiries to Vicki on vickiroycroft@bigpond.com or 0418 432842.

George Morris Coaches Clinic
Learn from legendary USA Showjumping Coach - George Morris!
Australian coaches and trainers are once again offered the unique opportunity to attend a coach's clinic with legendary USA Coach George Morris!
To be held on Saturday 23rd January at Horseworld in Maraylya, the clinic will run from 9am to 3pm and the cost per person is $50. Refreshments will be available.
Described as the single most influential teacher of jumping riders in the world since the 1950s, George Morris' credentials as a coach and rider are inimitable.
Now into his seventies George has served as the Chef d'Equipe and coach of the US show jumpers since 2005, but his commitment to the sport has spanned decades. He has been named US Coach of the year for the previous two years and his services are much sought after. It is thanks to Vicki Roycroft that we have been able to entice him to visit Australia two years in a row.
The coaching clinic will be a lecture style demonstration where George will conduct three group lessons, explaining to the audience his theories and teaching strategies. He will start with a novice group (up to 70cm), then an Intermediate group (approx 1.20m) and finish with an elite group (1.30m+).
There will be opportunities for audiences to ask questions, however attendees are warned to be mindful that George is disciplinarian who is intolerant of audience chatter or eating during his presentations.
NCAS Coaches will gain re- accreditation points by attendance at the clinic, but it is also open to non-coaching jumping enthusiasts and riders as well.
Already prominent coaches from NZ and interstate have indicated that they will be attending and NSW enthusiasts are urged not to miss this unique opportunity.
The Sydney Showjumping Club and the NSW EA have contributed to the organization of this clinic.
