This unique Coaches clinic will be enormously beneficial to coaches and trainees of all levels.

Attendance will qualify as EA NCAS updating points.

Coaches will gain hands on experience on:

• How to structure a clinic, how to structure and write a lesson plan,

• How to meet the needs of different students with a range of experience, skills, problems,

• How to cater for different learning styles, adults vs juniors, males vs females.
• What exercises you can use for training horses and riders of all levels,
• How to prevent coach “burnout” and maintain professional development
• How to integrate dressage and jumping training.

Jody Sloper credentials:
Bachelor of Physical Ed 1978, Chairman of the Coaching Council for Canadian Equestrian Federation, Chairman of Coaching for Horse Trials Canada, CEF contract to lead the re-structuring of the Coaching Licensing Program in Canada, Canadian Equestrian Federation (CEF) Level 3 Coach since 1987, 30 years of riding and training horses for jumping, eventing and open jumpers, Coached four Provincial 3DE teams at Canada games for three gold medals, Coached four Young Rider teams to the FEI North American Young Riders Championship and Event teams, Coached four individuals who were short- and long-listed for the Canadian 3DE team, and one individual and one reserve rider for the Pan Am team in 1999 (Trish Dahms and Suzy Pettman), Coached three riders who qualified for the Canadian Equestrian Team Medal finals in jumping.

Cost is $100 per person

Time is 9am to 3pm

A misty start to a great day of lessons here at Nelson. Some beautiiful red

parrots have become regular morning visitors- lucky us. A great variety of

students makes my job here so diverse and interesting, from beginners to

advanced competitors, we are delighted to have you all.

We also did some more vaulting training here today, with big Tom training as
a part time vaulting horse with great results. More good results tonight
from Toowoomba, where George and Jess are up there competing. Sprite another
good 2nd in the very competitive 1.30m class and Ozy clear in the 1.40m and
8th. Cecil clear in 1.10m- great work guys!

Special guest at Team J Coach Training 14th July 2010                  Despite dire weather predictions we had a terrific day of Coach Training here at Team J today. As a special guest, we were lucky to have the new EA National Education Manager, Ben Harris visit us and sit in on our training and meet some of our trainees. Ben was very generous with his time and was engaged and interested in all topics raised. Lyn gave an excellent vaulting lesson based on the German Training Scale, Rochelle a lesson on lengthening stride and Deb did a terrific job with tracks of the arena. Other attendees included Qld L1 Coach Trish Braithwaite, Indonesian Coach Rahmat Natsir, Rachael Smith, Rachelle Joisce, Marcia Williamson. Thanks to Olivia, Lauren, Sarah and Georgia for being wonderful demo riders. Coach Training will be on here again next Wednesday 21st July. Call me if you would like to be involved 0412 405079
