I was back at Terrey Hills to Coach the “Thunderbirds” at the Princess Anne Arena today, and we had a terrific time. Four groups of disparate ages and abilities all braved the showery conditions to be part of training in dressage, poles and jumping. Some wet horses, some seriously gorgeous young horses and some heroic older horses. Well done everyone and congratulations to Rachel for once again organising it so brilliantly (even she can’t control the weather). I love my trips to the Thunderbirds and admire the enthusiasm and keenness for learning I always encounter. For those in my groups today I would recommend follow up training with George when he comes over to Terry Hills on a fairly regular basis- you can call him on 0431 212661. Showjumping Star to be remembered!

The Sydney Showjumping Club will name the feature event of their upcoming Winter Championships in honour of one its most famous members, Di Dawson, who passed away earlier this year.
The Di Dawson Grand Prix will be the highlight of the day on Sunday 17th July at the Sydney Showjumping Club's Clarendon grounds.
Club President David Lawrence said, "We are expecting some extremely good competition at this event. We have refurbished all our practice areas and the arenas are in fantastic condition. We are delighted to be able to pay tribute to Di by naming the Grand Prix after her".

 Christine is an NCAS EA Level 2 Coach and Coach Educator, a member of the NSW PCA’s paid instructors panel and is a member of the NSW NCAS Advisory panel.

Sydney Showjumping Club members head overseas for team representation.

High standards at Sydney Showjumping Club Sunday 29th March 2011

Showjumping was of a very high standard at Sydney Showjumping Club on Sunday 6th March with over 180 horses entered for the day.

Several members used the day as a final hit out for their trip to New Zealand at the end of the week to compete in the highly prestigious Horse of the Year Show at Napier in Hawke’s Bay.

George Sanna from Glossodia, the current Australian Showjumping Champion, heads the Australian team, along with Julia Hargreaves from Wilberforce, Brook Dobbin from Victoria, and Cathy Graham from Queensland.

Paul Athanasoff from Glossodia is team reserve and will compete as an individual. Danielle Butcher, Jamie Kermond and Jamie Winning will also compete as individuals. Good luck to all those riders.

Coordinators for the day were Sue Coonan and Karinda Alpert and both were delighted with the success of the day. Courses were designed by Mark Atkins and David Lawrence and despite recent hot and dry weather the grounds were in good condition.

Sydney Showjumping Club will hold their AGM on Tuesday 15th March and their next competition day on Sunday 20th March. Competitors are reminded that all entries must be made online through www.globalentriesonline.com.au

Attention Horse enthusiasts! At last our latest Team J Newsletter is out. Many thanks to Alice and Ben for their editorial efforts.

We have had an interlude in proceedings at Team J, as many of you are aware, due to Grandad (My Dad) passing away. We are back in full swing now and George is also available to travel to do clinics or lessons, as well as taking horses for schooling or competition education or sales preparation.

Coach training is on again every Wednesday from 10am to 2pm and our Friday afternoon vaulting group is up and running from 2 to 4 pm.

Call us if you want to be part of some Team J training in showjuumping, dressage, crosscountry, vaulting or coach training.
