Fun Friday at Team J -14 October 2011

Fridays are always fun days at Team J for me- thanks to some of my favourite students- great riding everyone! George is at Dubbo competing at the Australian Showjumping Championships with three horses and today had success with Sprite coming third in the very competitive 1.30m event, Cecil has qualified for the D grade Championships tomorrow and Ozy has been very brave in the 1.140m Senior Titles ring over the very big tracks.


Jump club has been downgraded to a training day on Sunday due to the low number of entries. Coach Training is on Wednesdays and we run updating clinics at regular intervals. Sydney Showjumping Club members head overseas for team representation.

High standards at Sydney Showjumping Club Sunday 29th March 2011

Showjumping was of a very high standard at Sydney Showjumping Club on Sunday 6th March with over 180 horses entered for the day.

Several members used the day as a final hit out for their trip to New Zealand at the end of the week to compete in the highly prestigious Horse of the Year Show at Napier in Hawke’s Bay.

George Sanna from Glossodia, the current Australian Showjumping Champion, heads the Australian team, along with Julia Hargreaves from Wilberforce, Brook Dobbin from Victoria, and Cathy Graham from Queensland.

Paul Athanasoff from Glossodia is team reserve and will compete as an individual. Danielle Butcher, Jamie Kermond and Jamie Winning will also compete as individuals. Good luck to all those riders.

Coordinators for the day were Sue Coonan and Karinda Alpert and both were delighted with the success of the day. Courses were designed by Mark Atkins and David Lawrence and despite recent hot and dry weather the grounds were in good condition.

Sydney Showjumping Club will hold their AGM on Tuesday 15th March and their next competition day on Sunday 20th March. Competitors are reminded that all entries must be made online through www.globalentriesonline.com.au

George Johnson & Wondaree Sprite win Tamworth Grand Prix 23rd October 2010

George Johnson & Wondaree Sprite won the Tamworth Grand Prix Showjumping Title on 23rd October 2010. Being first to go in the jump off is sometimes seen as a disadvantage, but George and Sprite jumped a very fast, clean round and couldn’t be beaten.
Sprite is bred and owned by astute horsewoman Kate Wallace of Wondaree Sporthorses in Geelong in Victoria. Sprite is by Wondaree Dreamtime from a TB mare called Miss Andrill.

George has taken Sprite to A grade with considerable success, but this is their best result to date.

George is able to take horses for schooling & competition and is a Level 1 EA Coach who is available for private or group lessons.

 Riding Kate Wallace's performace horse mare "Wondaree Sprite", George Johnson won the Grand Prix at the Tamworth Equestrian Centre Show on Saturday 23rd October 2010.
First to go in the jump off is not always considered a lucky position but
George jumped a fast clean round that couldnt be beaten by the other
competitors.
Since forming the partnership with "Sprite", George has taken her to A
grade, and this has been their biggest success together so far.
Twenty five year old George is a coach and trainer based at Nelson NSW, just thirty minutes drive from Sydney.
