Hawkesbury Riding Club Showjumping Competition Day -Sunday 29th March 2009

The Hawkesbury Riding Club (formerly known as the Kellyville Riding Club), staged a very successful showjumping competition day at their Clarendon grounds on Sunday 29th March 09.

At the 2008 AGM it was decided that from 2009 onwards, Kellyville Riding Club would be renamed as Hawkesbury Riding Club. As the club is no longer located in the Kellyville area, it was felt by members that the club's name should reflect its location.

Head of the organising committee Sandra McLean of Box Hill said, “We are delighted with the success of the day, and want to thank all our sponsors and volunteers!”

Juho Looveer designed courses and the judges were Joyce Brook, Lyn McLeod and Jenny Merity. The grounds were in superb condition and all horses jumped very well.

Megan Hanna from Arcadia celebrated her sixteenth birthday by winning the 60cm class on her lovely bay horse Bayly.

Young Harry Owen from Townsville who is training at Wilberforce with Colleen Brook had a good day with several placings on his horse Flynn.

Jamison Lawrence from Glossodia produced a promising new horse Louie for good results in the 75cm class.

Professional riding couple Jenny Shepherd and Andrew Inglis, who have recently relocated to Maroota dominated the higher classes, as well as producing some promising youngsters in the smaller rings.

HRC Committee member Gail Kroon made a stylish debut with her lovely coloured horse Munchie for a placing in the small ring.
